Description: The Server+ class is a middle-level, vendor-neutral training aimed primarily at candidates who have approx. 18-24 months experience working in or around a server environment. This class helps you become competent in server technology, installations and configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrading and disaster recovery. While there are no specific pre-requisites, it should be noted that the class is targeted toward mid-level technicians so adequate knowledge of networks and hardware is required. To that end, those who are considering doing the Server+ certification as an entry level training might be more suited to other offerings such as the Network+ or A+ first. Approximately 10 – 15% of the objectives for both the Network+ and the A+ overlap into the Server+, so having those classes under your belt first will give you a good foundation to move onto the Server+ class (although it is not a requirement). The Server+ Certification Exam by COMPTIA is an industry exam that is available from authorized testing centers.
