Certified Associate Business Manager (CABM)

Overview: The CABM is 14 weeks of intense study in Business Management with a curriculum that provides a mini-MBA knowledge base. This program provides (3) hours of classroom time each week to review the information covered in the online lab modules and to help the student reinforce the concepts. This program has an Industry exam at the end of the class that can allow the student to certify for the CABM. This exam is covered in the class fee and delivered in week 15, after the completion of the program. The student should spend 5 hours a week working through the labs. Depending on the student level, (5-10) hours a week may be needed to complete the lab material on line. A three (3) hour Intro class session is held the first night and (3) additional hours are allocated in week 14 for Q&A for the exam. Passing the industry exam in week 15 is not required to complete the certificate.

Solar Electric Systems (SES)

Overview: The purpose of the Certificate in Solar Electric Systems program is to prepare students for the NABCEP PV Entry Level Exam. This program is open to anyone who wishes to enter the renewable energy field. Upon completion of this course students will be able to demonstrate knowledge and application of key solar electric system terms and concepts. Students will learn how to develop a design that optimizes the economic and energy opportunities of a given site. Understanding the relationship of solar PV and the existing electrical infrastructure requires an emphasis on electrical technology. Given an understanding of how systems work, the student will develop the ability to communicate to electricians who are NABCEP certified to do the installations. Have an understanding of the basic safety procedures for working with solar electric systems, Students will also have knowledge of basic components that makeup up a solar system, and learn how to size and design a simple photovoltaic system.

Industrial Control System (ICS)

Overview: This course introduces various programmable logic controllers and how each interfaces with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical controls for automated applications. Laboratory experiences include the design and troubleshooting of ladder logic programs, working with counters, registers, decoders, and digital to analog converters, analog to digital converters, and storage devices. The latest programmable logic controllers from the leaders in the industry will be used as the processors for control applications, rung programming, sequencers, data manipulation instruction, file-to-file moves and graphics. Communications between the processors on the same platforms will be over a Data Network that is selective to each PLC manufacturer. The course concludes with an individual student project involving the programmable logic controller and electro-mechanical control of an industrial application.

OSHA Safety Management: OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 General Industry Outreach Programs (OSHA)

Overview: Course Duration: 10 or 30 hours The OSHA Outreach Training Program provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces. The program also provides information regarding workers’ rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. This is a voluntary program and does not meet training requirements for any OSHA standards. Through this program, workers can attend 10-hour or 30-hour classes delivered by OSHA-authorized trainers. The 10- hour class is intended for entry level workers, while the 30-hour class is more appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility. Through this training, OSHA helps to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights, and contribute to our nation’s productivity.
