Construction Foreman




Position Summary

The Construction Foreman leads telecom construction crews in the field, overseeing the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation of fiber optic, coaxial, or wireless infrastructure. The role ensures compliance with project plans, safety standards, and schedule milestones while coordinating with contractors, inspectors, and field engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily activities of underground and/or aerial telecom crews (drillers, linemen, laborers)
  • Ensure adherence to project blueprints, permits, and safety guidelines (OSHA, NESC)
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment readiness, and workforce assignments
  • Conduct pre-job briefings, toolbox talks, and job site safety inspections
  • Monitor production and ensure quality of installation: fiber placement, conduit, poles, or handholes
  • Interface with inspectors, utility companies, and subcontractors
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, photos, and redlines
  • Escalate field issues to project managers and recommend solutions

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3-5 years of telecom construction experience with leadership responsibilities
  • Knowledge of aerial/underground construction methods and telecom standards
  • Proficient in reading engineering prints, maps, and construction documents
  • Experience with safety protocols, MOPs, and environmental procedures
  • OSHA 10/30 required

Preferred:

  • CDL
