Crew Lead




Position Summary

The Crew Lead is a working team leader who guides small field crews through telecom infrastructure tasks such as cable installation, trenching, pole work, and equipment setup. This role bridges field staff and supervisors, ensuring safe, productive execution of the daily work plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct 2-6 crew members during fiber optic or coax installations (aerial/underground)
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed to spec and on time
  • Interpret maps and prints to locate job paths, utilities, and equipment placements
  • Operate equipment or tools as needed (trenchers, lashers, winches, hand tools)
  • Maintain quality control of terminations, labeling, and cabling practices
  • Communicate progress and issues to Foreman or PM
  • Lead by example in enforcing job site safety standards

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2-3 years of telecom field experience
  • Working knowledge of fiber construction, equipment operation, and utility locating
  • Ability to read and explain construction prints
  • Strong communication and crew coordination skills
  • Valid driver's license; CDL a plus
