For Immediate Release 7/5/24 – Learning Alliance Newsroom
Tampa, Florida — Learning Alliance Corporation (LAC) announces its hosting of a workshop on Workforce Development for Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program funding titled “Pathways for Organizational Growth: Workforce Development, Retention, and Diversification” during the upcoming Fiber Connect 2024 expo.
This workshop, in collaboration with the Fiber Broadband Association (FBA) and the Telecommunications Industry Registered Apprenticeship Program (TIRAP), illuminates the evolving landscape of career opportunities within the telecommunications sector, focusing on workforce retention, diversification, and the dynamic evolution of organizational development through FBA Optic Pathways.
Scheduled for July 29, 2024, at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee, the workshop aims to provide valuable insights and strategies to both new entrants and seasoned professionals in the telecommunications industry. The collaboration between LAC and TIRAP highlights a shared commitment to enhancing career opportunities through accredited apprenticeships and a forward-thinking approach to industry education.
“Our partnership with TIRAP to conduct this workshop at Fiber Connect 2024 underscores our dedication to fostering a skilled and diverse workforce capable of meeting the industry’s evolving demands,” said Cesar Ruiz, CEO of Learning Alliance Corporation. “We are poised to introduce participants to innovative career pathways and retention strategies that promise to reshape the future of telecommunications.”
The workshop will cover a range of critical topics, including:
- Workforce Retention: Strategies for nurturing a loyal and motivated workforce capable of driving continuous industry growth.
- Diversification: Approaches to enhancing industry inclusivity and leveraging diverse talent to spur innovation and resilience.
- Evolution of Organization Development: Insight into the transformative impact of FBA Optic Pathways on organizational practices, focusing on continuous learning and adaptation in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
Through insights provided by TIRAP representatives, participants will also gain a deeper understanding of the pivotal role apprenticeships play in building a competent workforce. This discussion will delve into the benefits of apprenticeship programs, which not only equip individuals with essential skills but also address the critical skills gap in the telecommunications industry.
“The apprenticeship model is the best way to train and retain a diverse workforce in preparation for BEAD funding,” said WIA VP of Apprenticeship Deb Bennett. “This workshop will explore how companies can leverage resources through TIRAP, FBA, and our partners to establish clear, standardized career pathways that will help them build and retain the highly skilled workforce they need.”
The workshop is open to all Fiber Connect 2024 attendees, appealing to a broad audience from industry newcomers to C-level executives. It promises to be an enlightening experience, providing attendees with actionable insights and networking opportunities with industry leaders and peers.
